Do I need a GP referral to get started?

No. You register directly through Apex and our doctors issue a pathology referral within the same business day. No existing doctor's referral required, no waiting rooms.

What's included in the blood panel?

Our panels go significantly beyond what a standard GP orders. For hormone programs, we test full hormone profiles, metabolic markers, thyroid function, inflammatory markers, and nutritional status: the full picture needed to build a precise protocol, not just check for disease.

Are your doctors actually AHPRA-registered?

Yes, unconditionally. Every consultation is conducted by an AHPRA-registered medical practitioner. We publish our registration details and you can verify any of our doctors directly on the AHPRA national register.

Where do I get my blood test done?

At any of 4,000+ accredited pathology collection centres across Australia. We send your referral electronically and you simply book a morning appointment at your nearest centre. Most results come back within 24–48 hours.

How does the ongoing care model work?

After your initial consultation and protocol is set, you'll have a scheduled clinical review every 3 months. Between reviews, your doctor adjusts your protocol based on new pathology data, and our team is available for clinical questions. It's not a set-and-forget service.

Is this legal in Australia?

Yes. Every doctor is AHPRA-registered, prescriptions follow Australian prescribing rules, and anything prescribed is dispensed by an Australian compounding pharmacy partner.

What if I've had blood tests with my GP recently?

We'll review any recent results you can share, but in most cases we order our own panel because the markers we rely on for protocol-building are different from what standard GP panels include. If your recent tests are comprehensive, we can discuss deferring the re-test at your consultation.

Can I claim it on Medicare?: No. Apex is a fully private clinic, so there is no Medicare rebate on consults, bloods or anything else. Every fee is on the pricing page before you start.
Where are my bloods taken?: At an accredited pathology collection centre near you. We send the referral electronically, you book a morning visit, and most results come back within 48 hours.
Can I cancel the membership?: Yes. Membership is month to month with no lock-in contract. Pause or cancel your membership from your account.
What about side effects?: If a treatment is suitable, your doctor talks you through its possible side effects before anything is prescribed, and you can raise any concern with the care team at any time.
What if I change my mind?: Cancel or reschedule up to 4 hours before your appointment for a full refund of the consult fee. After a consult has happened the fee is not refundable, whatever the outcome. The full rules are in our terms.
